Growth

Star growth per time window: stars gained, growth percentage, the star count at the start of the period, and whether the figure was measured from our own two-hour intraday snapshots, daily snapshots, or GitHub’s rebuilt star history, for the last 6 hours, the last 12 hours, today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days, and the last year. A period with no current measurement is left blank rather than shown as zero.
Period	Stars gained	Growth	From	Measured
Last 6 hours	—	—	—	Not measured
Last 12 hours	—	—	—	Not measured
Today	+100	0.2%	41.7k on 25 Oct 2026	Daily snapshots
Last 7 days	+785	1.9%	41k on 18 Oct 2026	Weekly history
Last 30 days	+1.9k	4.7%	39.9k on 27 Sep 2026	Weekly history
Last year	+23.4k	127.0%	18.4k on 26 Oct 2025	Weekly history

A period with no current measurement is left blank: a delta needs a measurement at both ends of the period. The 6- and 12-hour periods need two intraday measurements exactly that far apart, the day-and-longer periods need snapshots on both dates, and the last year also needs star history from a year ago, which we keep for one year.

Stars: 40.1k when it entered our index, 41.8k on the last capture we hold (26 Oct 2026), so +1.7k in that span. That span is our own measurement window, not a claim about what happened before it.

Its most recent thread before Trending is more than 90 days older than that day, so the two are not the same story and we do not claim lead time.

We hold 2 mentions for it, the oldest dated 31 Jul 2025 and the first written into our database on 26 Oct 2026. Thread dates come from the source, not from when we fetched them.

The key is prompting. Prompt to within an inch of your life. Treat prompts as source code - edit them in files, use @ notation to bring them into the console. Use Claude to generate its own prompts - https://github.com/wshobson/commands/ and https://github.com/wshobson/agents/ are very handy, they include a prompt-engineer persona. I'm at the point now where I have to yell at the AI once in a whi…
